Eileen Howell, RN received her nursing degree from Shaw College-Detroit. She boasts a rich and varied background in healthcare, her experience has spanned over 30 years as a registered nurse in diverse clinical settings including emergency, acute inpatient care, and outpatient services. Introduced to clinical research in the year 2000 within a specialized psychiatric research unit, she assumed a clinical lead role in two phase 3 studies. After a hiatus in research, Eileen reentered clinical research in 2021, focusing on pivotal phase 3 COVID-19 vaccine trials until their completion.
Joining SRI Clinical Trials Unit in April 2023, she finds profound excitement and fulfillment in her role, particularly when involved in the phase 1 clinical trial where the treatment modality may have momentous impact to patients world-wide. She is also thrilled about the Clinical Trials Unit’s new and emerging federal and commercially funded clinical research studies.
Eileen has an unwavering desire to contribute to the advancements in healthcare research and innovation. She ismost interested in dispelling misconceptions and fostering trust in research, particularly among underserved and underrepresented populations within the community.
