Ellen Ochoa, the first Hispanic woman to go to space, has had a career defined by extraordinary contributions to science and exploration. She made history in 1993 on a nine-day mission on the Space Shuttle Discovery, using her expertise in optics and engineering to help advance NASA’s space programs.
