Development and validation of a method to extract and quantitate paromomycin and gentamicin from an Aquaphillic® cream formulation
Butanol and dilute sulfuric acid were used to extract paromomycin and gentamicin from Aquaphilic®-based formulated creams. The extraction procedure was validated over different antibiotic concentration ranges for linearity, precision, accuracy, limited specificity, sensitivity and solution stability.

On the determination of epipoles using cross-ratios
We study the problem of computing the position of the epipoles in a pair of uncalibrated images. The approach, which is based on the invariance of the cross-ratio by the epipolar transformation

Role Of Technology In Student-Scientist Partnerships: Perspective From The National Science Foundation
Abstract A variety of student-scientist partnerships (SSPs) have evolved over the years in the K-12 classroom, providing students, teachers, and scientists with activities and experiences not available from any other source. Characteristically these activities are inquiry-based or design-oriented and aligned with Benchmarks (American Association for the Advancement of Science, 1993), (National Research Council of the National Academy…

A chemical assessment and HPLC assay validation of bulk paromomycin sulfate
This paper describes the compositional analyses of four paromomycin sulfate samples and features a validated HPLC assay method that relies on the fluorescence detection of isoindole derivatives of paromomycin, formed by post-column reaction with o-phthalaldehyde and 2-mercaptoethanol.

Many Robots Make Short Work
Abstract Indoor mobile robots are becoming reliable enough in navigation tasks to consider working with teams of robots. Using SRI International’s open-agent architecture (OAA) and SAPHIRA robot-control system, we configured three physical robots and a set of software agents on the internet to plan and act in coordination. Users communicate with the robots using a…
