Program Manager, Security and Survivability

David Stoker, Ph.D., is an expert in the areas of laser physics and optics. His research addresses the need to develop non-invasive methods of sensing difficult-to-see and difficult-to-detect objects ranging from chemicals to personal identity and even the functions of integrated circuits. His team often combines concepts of statistical signal restoration with machine learning, computer vision, multi-sensor fusion, and computational imaging to achieve very low numbers of false positive detections.

Since joining SRI, he has led numerous research programs for customers in the Department of Defense and the intelligence communities. Specific applications of his research have included chemical and biological warfare agent detection, mid-wave and long-wave infrared laser spectroscopy, biometric identification in harsh environments, and trusted integrated circuit validation.

He holds a Ph.D. in atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics from The University of Texas at Austin.
