Kurt Dustin

Senior Director, Intelligence Systems Laboratory 

Kurt Dustin is senior director of the Intelligent Systems Laboratory (ISL) in SRI International’s Integrated Systems division. He manages a large team of  project, systems and software engineers to develop state of the art C5ISR and Emerging Technology Transition into mature systems and solutions.  Dustin has over 30 years experience in  engineering management, system engineering, model-based simulation, real time software development, sensor exploitation and program management.  

Dustin has led several large US Department of Defence (DOD) programs from initial research and development into fielded, sustainable systems including the Next Generation Command and Control Processor as well as commercial product engineering. One of his key expertise areas is scaling and tailoring the engineering process to project budgets/timelines and team skills. 

Prior to joining SRI, Dustin was a Senior Systems Engineer/Program Manager for the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab Battle Force Projects Program, where he led several Minotaur Family of Services efforts.  Prior to APL,  Dustin was the Engineering Director at DRS C3 Mission Systems focusing on mission critical tactical data links and systems 

Dustin has a MS in Management from Edison State and MS in Computer Science from DePaul University.
