Sajid Ishaq
Vice President, Microcircuit Emulation Center
Sajid Ishaq, Ph.D., is director of SRI’s Microcircuit Emulation Center. In this role, he leads a team of almost 70 scientists, engineers, and technicians who design, fabricate and test integrated circuits (ICs) to support the nation’s weapons systems through the Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) and the Advanced Microcircuit Emulation (AME) programs. These are multi-year programs funded by the Defense Logistics Agency.
Ishaq has more than 20 years of experience in film deposition and IC manufacturing technologies. He has led multidisciplinary projects at several large semiconductor manufacturers, including ST Microelectronics, TSMC, and Micron in advanced technology process integration and vacuum and gas abatement solutions for 300mm process systems.
After joining SRI in 2005, he worked on developing and integrating dielectric films into production processes. His current research interests include low-temperature film deposition and curing processes and integrated manufacturing systems for IC production.
Ishaq holds a Ph.D. in low-pressure chemical vapor deposition studies from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland, with technical expertise in film deposition and curing processes for both semiconductor and material applications.
