SRI International is excited to welcome the newest member to our Board of Directors, David Motley.
David brings significant experience to the SRI Board in biomedical technologies, manufacturing of technical products and venture capital. You can learn more about David’s experience below or read his full bio on sri.com.
David is Co-founder and Managing Partner at BlueTree Venture Fund, a Pittsburgh-based venture capital firm investing in med-tech and IT companies at the Series B stage. He currently serves as Lead Director for Armada Supply Chain Solutions, a $4B privately held company that is the dominant national player in the food service industry and is recorded on the Forbes List of 150 largest privately held U.S. companies.
David is also Senior Managing Director at FODIS, LLC, an advisory practice spun-out of EY’s acquisition of Headwaters SC in 2017 that has provided direct investment services to business-owning families since 1982.
Previously, David held the position of Vice President and General Manager at Respironics, where he was an integral part of the 12-person management team that helped grow the business from $750M to $1.4B, leading to its subsequent acquisition by Philips for $5B.
Along with SRI’s Board, David currently sits on the Boards of First National Bank, Koppers, Inc., ALung, Inc. (dialysis-like alternative to mechanical ventilation), Forest Devices (novel diagnostic for stroke patients) and several non-profit entities.
In 2017, David co-founded the African American Directors Forum (AADF) which seeks to increase representation for African Americans in the board rooms, C-Suites, and supplier bases of publicly traded companies across the nation.
David received his MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
