Abstract
The paper offers an analysis of punctual “until” that links together its truth conditional and presuppositional content with its status as a polarity item by incorporating scalarity into its meaning. It works out how an ordering in the temporal domain translates into an ordering of informational strength to show how scalarity can be derived in the temporal domain.
