Exploring the limits of our solar system
SRI helps scientists explore our upper atmosphere and outer space. Our experienced teams work with NASA, the Department of Defense, and other government agencies to create innovative engineering and operations solutions tough enough to withstand the extreme conditions of space.
Our space technologies include compact sensors for uncompromising environments, small satellite payload and mission design, specialized signal processing and exploitation. Our geospace systems include advanced technology and systems for remote sensing, geolocation, communications, and space situational awareness. We also do device design; simulation and process development for high-performance devices and camera assemblies; read-out integrated circuits (ROICs) for custom-configured LIDAR; and more.

SRI’s “the Dish” and its long history
The famous radio antenna has a rich legacy of communicating with spacecraft above Earth and around other planets, as well as listening to distant stars and Cold War-era atmospheric nuclear blasts.
